Involuntary Liens
Pursuant to County of Alameda Resolution No. 194877, dated November 2, 1982 and No. 94-427, dated August 1, 1994, the fee for recording an involuntary lien will be $7.00 per debtor in addition to the Real Estate Fraud fee of $10, the regular recording fee of $14.00 for the first page and $3.00 for each page thereafter, (standard size 8.5" x 11"). The recording fee for non-standard size is $92.00 for the first page and $6.00 for each page thereafter. Select the following link to view the sample document format:

To all abstracts of judgments add a lien notification fee of $7.00 per debtor. Other involuntary judgments, mechanic's liens, etc. add $7.00 per debtor if the debtor's address appears on the document.
Sample 1 number of debtors: John A. Doe and Mary B. Doe = 2 debtors
Sample 2 number of debtors: John A. Doe, individually, and dba Doe Sign Company = 2 debtors
Sample 3 number of debtors: John A. Doe, individually, and dba Doe Sign Company, and fdba J. A. Doe Sign Company = 3 debtors
There is also an additional charge of $7.00 if the debtor is to be notified at a second address.
Examples of documents which may be affected are Abstracts of Judgment, Notices of Assessment, Judgments, Mechanic's Liens, and others.
If you are using judicial form #982(a)(1), you may need to add a cover page as the form does not conform to the requirements of Government Code 27361.6. The recorder will charge an additional fee for the cover page.
